Commercialization of Gerbera flower in Bangladesh

It’s a great news for Aloasha that Aloasha biotech lab successfully completed the tissue culture of Gerbera flower in Bangladesh. These gerbera plantlets are in the field level in Bangladesh which has been firstly introduced in Bangladesh for commercial purpose. It’s true that Gerbera is a world famous flower for its colour, beauty and fragrance and contributes in the economy of a country. Still new Bangladeshi farmers are cultivating Gerbera flowers by importing cuttings and plantlets from India. In 2011,Aloasha Biotech lab successfully regenerated gerbera via tissue culture technique and already introduced in the field level. Hope it would keep an important role in the field of horticulture and of course will boost the economy of Bangladesh.

Good luck of Aloasha Agrotech

STARWBERRY is being cultivated in Bangladesh successfully. Due to strawberry cultivation,Aloasha Agrotech came very close to farmers. Hope in near future Aloasha Agrotech will meet the local seed demand of potato and also by developing and providing its other technologies such as seed priming,Aloasha Agrotech will help the subsistence and marginal farmers. Hope marginal farmers will get locally produced quality seeds for better crop production.

Not only this seed production or seed supply system but also Aloasha Agrotech is going to support marginal farmers through its own FARMERS TRAINING CENTRE.

Those days are not so far ……….when Bangladesh will meet food demand by using its own Agrotech system………

Commercialization of Strawberry in Bangladesh

Strawberry is a fruit of cold countries. We can’t imagine the availability of this delicious fruit in market through cultivation in a tropical country like Bangladesh. But now it became true that strawberry is cultivating in Bangladesh and which started its first trial at Rajshahi, the most hot climatic region in Bangladesh. Approximately 12 years research of Professor Dr. Monzur Hossain’s team, strawberry is now being cultivated in Bangladesh that was really unbelievable. Now it’s growing around in 35 districts in Bangladesh. The most important thing is just 2 years before it was not only impossible for poor farmers/people to taste strawberry but also unpredictable for them to cultivate in their land or in home garden. But it became true and now a lot of farmers and villagers are cultivating. Now-a-days,steps are going to be taken to make its commercialization and already few number of commercial companies promised to help AloAsah agrotech for commercialization of strawberry in Bangladesh. We strongly believe that in coming future;strawberry will be available in Bangladesh fruit market like Bangladeshi common fruit, not like imported one and I personally believe that will be helpful for the country economy and povert reduction.

Those days are not so far:Bangladesh will optimize all food demand by using its own agro-biotech system.

“Strawberry cultivation is getting popularity in Bangladesh”

Strawberry,a new crop in Bangladesh is getting popularity. Due to successful  cultivation in 2008-2009 fiscal,  hundreds of people are interesting to cultivate strawberry in 2009-2010 fiscal.  Strawberry is highly profitable and nutricious fruit.  According to demand of interested strawberry farmers in coming season,Bangladesh Strawberry Association (BSA) had arranged two “Training Workshop”in this year. One is on 13 March,2009 in Rajshahi University and another is on 27 June,2010 at BCIC auditorium in Dhaka. 300 hundred  participant were present in each of them. In Dhaka Strawberry Conference on 27 June,  honourableChief guest Mr.  Abdul Latif  Siddiqi (Minister of Forest and Environment) and honourable special guest Dr. Answari (Executive Director,ACI Ltd.) has promised to support all kinds of help to extend the cultivation in Bangladesh.

Now Aloasha School is going to be supported by Aloasha Agrotech

It’s really interesting that Aloasha school is going to be strongly financially supported by some income from strawberry plantlet and fruit marketing. It was very hard to establish a climate resilient strawberry variety in Bangladesh and now it is being cultivated whole the country, success came by the research group of Plant Breeding &Gene Engineering Lab,Dept. of Botany,University of Rajshahi, supervised by Professor Monzur and supposed to be commercially cultivated in near future. Now income from strawberry goes to the Aloasha school for its further development. So it will be possible to establish the dream behind the establishment of Aloasha school.

Wishing future prospect of ALOSHA SCHOOL.
